We appreciate all donations. The children especially enjoy personal gifts for Christmas, birthdays, and other special occasions throughout the year. Other donations such as cars, land, and stocks are also valuable contributions. However, we have experienced that our wish list generally creates an abundance of donations in one category, while items in another category remain sorely needed.
Therefore, we recommend donating to the various sponsorship categories listed below to ensure that adequate supplies and equipment are available for our children at all times. A sponsorship utilization account will be posted in our annual newsletter for designated cash contributions. Otherwise, feel free to call or email our office if you wish to select a specific sponsorship or donate a particular item.
We feel that this new approach will ensure that your donation does the most good and meets the immediate needs of our children. Thanks again for your understanding and kindness in this matter.
“Adopt a Cottage” Sponsorship
- Snacks and Fruits: $150 per month
- Groceries and Supplies: $800 per month
- Equipment and Household Supplies (annual expenses)
- Appliances (Washer, Dryer, etc.): Varies
- HVAC repair and replacement expenses: $3,000 – $7,000
- Furniture (for bedrooms, living rooms, lounge areas, and kitchen): $15,000 per cottage
- Window Treatment (curtains): Varies
- Beds, Mattresses, Linens, and Accessories: $800 minimum per student
- Campus Library Bookshelves: Estimated $2,000
Recreation
- Major Amusement Park Trips: $3,500 each (admission, transportation, food, spending money)
